A Dream Come True

Filed in odds and ends
By now, SEW DEADLY, has officially been out for a week. There’ve been sightings of it in bookstores in Iowa, New York  (all areas), the the midwest, North Carolina, etc. It’s out there…everywhere.

For a little girl who used to dream of being a published author, it is very cool to walk into a Barnes & Noble and see a display of my books! It’s also a little scary.

Why, you ask? Because now the part that’s largely out of my control begins. Sure, I’m touring (through the midwest this coming week) and sending out bookmarks (email me if you’d like one) via snail mail, and notes via email…but when you consider the volume of books out there all across the country, you realize just how much word-of-mouth you need to make a dent.

Which is where all of you come in. If you buy the book and like it, PLEASE spread the word. Or purchase an extra copy as a gift for someone you think will enjoy it. You don’t have to be a sewer to enjoy this story. It’s why I centered it around the socialization aspect (the circle of friends getting together to sew) rather than the actual craft itself.

This is truly an exciting time. Exciting and scary.

In the meantime, I want to share this picture with you. It’s from my launch party on Friday night at Main Street Books in St. Charles, Missouri. That’s me in the middle. ;)

Me and my girls.

Me and my girls.

So what was your dream when you were little? Did it come true? Or did another dream take over? I’d love to hear from you!

~Elizabeth
