Reading by Proxy

I love books. Mysteries, romances, women’s fiction, you name it. I love the opportunity they provide to escape into another world for a few hours–a world that is, oftentimes, very different than my own. In fact, when I’ve completed a deadline, I often spend weeks binge reading, devouring book after book as quickly as I can. I think it’s my brain’s way of refilling the well.

Unfortunately, while on deadline, reading is something that gets pushed to the side. And when that happens, I tend to pout. And by pout, I mean P-O-U-T.

Which is where you come in…

In the interest of keeping my head on the book I’m writing instead of all the books I’m not reading, I’m hoping you’ll let me read vicariously through you for a little while.

So tell me, what are you reading right now? Any recommendations you care to share for the moment my deadline has been met?

I’m reading Evidence of Murder by Lisa Black. I just finished reading Drawn in Blood by Andrea Kane. I loved Drawn in Blood which is a sequel to Twisted.

I think I’ve already told you I’m reading the Fake Fiancee by Megan Kelly. I want to get into a suspense I bought a few months ago…. But I’m stuck in TV land and knitting my scarf at night… I read at lunch.

Lynn, I’m ignoring that part right now or else I’ll never be able to imagine reading again… November 16th, November 16th. I. Can. Do. It.

I just finished Sew Deadly, loved it and left a review on amazon.com and then found this request….to thank you for MY great read of your first book, I’d like to recommend Clare O’Donohue’s “The Lover’s Knot” and “A Drunkard’s Path”, her quilters mystery series. Also, Julie Hyzy’s White House chef books, Joanna Campbell Slan mysteries, and yes, I could go on, but I want to NOT frustrate you so you can keep on writing my new favorite series!!! Thanks again.

I just finished reading a delightful cozy called SEW DEADLY and loved it! Great job, Elizabeth. The sequel can’t come soon enough for me. Other great reads that I recommend are Krista Davis’s domestic diva series and Betty Hechtman’s crochet mysteries.
