I'm a day late but I'm hoping that I can add my comment.

This question has come up before in some coffee break discussions and my answer is I would own/run a Bed and Breakfast. I've even gone so far as to take classes here and there in case I ever get the opportunity to actual live out my dream.

I live in the Atlanta area and my best friend lives in Orlando. Every year we go on our Thelma & Louise weekends and we always meet somewhere and stay in a B&B and I have grown very fond of them.

Good question! I tend to be someone who has an interest in many things. By starting to teach a few college classes recently I feel like I have started another career....and I can't say a writer because I am trying my hand at that too....so even though as a kid I wanted to be just like Charles Schlultz, I think I would go with wanting to own and run a mystery book store with a cafe' (just like the one in Carolyn Hart's Death on Demand series!!)

So Joe...aren't stingrays deadly? I was looking at an island advertisement with a family posed in the water petting a stingray. The caption should have read, The Cayman Islands, the best place on earth to get your life insurance policy to pay out.

Even knowing a manatee is gentle I think I'd still be terrified to get close enough for a picture. Yes, yes, I know...let the bawking begin.

Sigh.

I did see a reef shark while I was snorkeling last year... And a sting ray this year...

I've caught scores of snakes. Scampered up and down cliffs photographing eagles. Photographed alligators, and managed to get close to them. I snorkeled in a bay with manatees a few years ago, and while I didn't have the right gear for the job, I came away with some nice shots, thanks to a friend. They are gentle, beautiful creatures, but they weigh in at a half-ton; you don't want to get pinned between them.

Fellow blog readers, Dru is a MAJOR reader. We're talking a book a day in most cases!

I started out with the notion of being a social worker but when I discovered that the pay was little I opted to be a consumer researcher. If I had to change career, I think I would like being a psychologist - I'm a good listener and my friends use me as their sounding board and I like to think I give advice.

Lynn, a historical consultant sounds really cool! Even as a little girl I loved visiting historic homes (the ones where they rope off the rooms and you can't get too close). I was fascinated with the way people lived back when. Still am.

Joe, a wildlife cinematographer? Wow. Do you think getting close to wild animals would have scared you AT ALL??? And now, because I have to ask, HAVE you gotten close to any questionable animals for the purpose of taking pictures???
