    I didn’t know anything about investments, stocks or bonds so when an opportunity came up to invest in this upstart company, I declined. Name of upstart: Microsoft.

    When the opportunity came up again, I took advantage and I now have shares in Apple.

    Wow. Ouch, Dru. But very nice recovery!

    If I had it to do over again I’d have gotten myself bitten by the “work out bug” as a college kid and stuck with it. I just think having that mindset early on would have made it easier.

    I would have kept writing after college and not let university creative writing courses convince me that I had no talent and nothing to say. And I’d have smoked a lot less weed back then.

    I would have gone away to college and never looked back. And had more confidence in myself — rather than looking for it in other people.

    I would have paid closer attention to where my money went and bought stock earlier in the game.

    But the road not taken may have led me down the same path I find myself on now… because no matter which way I went, I took myself with me. And changing inside to be strong and smart… now that’s the real challenge.

    I would have started a retirement account when I was 21 instead of 41!

    Elizabeth, I’m there for you to keep the workout bug (or is that bug you about workouts??) LOL

    Ditto that regarding Lynn, and some of the other people who are important to me now.

    But maybe if we’d crossed paths sooner, we wouldn’t have bonded. And I’d have less in my life to be thankful for.

    Well, then. I wouldn’t change a thing.
