I'd be deliriously happy with the new cover if it hadn't delayed the book release!
I'm thrilled to have a timeline on the next few books, though. This series became a "must read" for me immediately after finishing the first book!

Ahem...some people had hot tea and coffee not just hot chocolate....

Anyway, I do love the new cover. I'm kind of not a detail girl so I wouldn't have even known to make any changes or if asked, wouldn't have know what to do. I guess thats why there's people like Joe who have more of an artist eye. I just know it when I see it. And apparently, I know quality by sight as well since all my frames for my crafting designs were pretty pricy...

Thanks, Joe! I'm really happy with it. And even more so with the change (now that I've seen it).

There are so many good things happening in this cover.

I like the splash of color in the basket, how it draws the eye to that element in the scene. And the basket being overturned--it implies a struggle, even before you see the note knifed to the floor.

There are islands of light in the upper corners to draw your eye into the illustration. And the artist used the same color palette for your first and second books--which brings consistency and familiarity to the series.

Strikes just the right balance between inviting and ominous.

Nicely done!
