Question Time
Filed in Bits & Pieces Fridays
I’ve been thinking of today’s questions all week. So fasten your seatbelts and let’s go, shall we?
1) What’s one toy from your childhood you wish you could play with just one more time?
2) If someone handed you five bucks and told you to go buy yourself a treat right now, what would you buy?
3) If you were suddenly called to perform an oddity on one of the late night TV shows, what could you do?
4) What was one toy/lunchbox/album you always wanted but never got?
5) Who’s the one actor/actress on TV today that you wouldn’t mind seeing on a poster in your room?

1) What’s one toy from your childhood you wish you could play with just one more time?

LEON’S FROZEN CUSTARD SUNDAE for $2.85 and a pint of butter pecan custard to bring home for my husband

1) What’s one toy from your childhood you wish you could play with just one more time? My Star Wars micro-figures action sets. Of course, they ARE tucked away in a box in the attic. Not far from my desk. Hmmm…
2) If someone handed you five bucks and told you to go buy yourself a treat right now, what would you buy? I’d trot down to the new coffee shop off the square and buy a mocha-somethun somethun, and drop the change in the tip jar. If there was any.
3) If you were suddenly called to perform an oddity on one of the late night TV shows, what could you do? Hold my breath longer than anyone in the room.
4) What was one toy/lunchbox/album you always wanted but never got? I always thought the Snoopy Snow Cone Machine looked like fun, but then, Consumer Reports didn’t rate them very high, so I scratched it off my wish list. In retrospect, I’m almost certain the editorial staff of that publication didn’t fall center-square of the target market (12-year-olds who loved Snoopy and liked to eat syrup on ice), and had no business reviewing the product.
5) Who’s the one actor/actress on TV today that you wouldn’t mind seeing on a poster in your room? Let’s see…1, 2, 3, 4…ah here it is: Fifth Amendment.

3) If you were suddenly called to perform an oddity on one of the late night TV shows, what could you do? Flag twirling? Or if I practiced, rifle tossing…
4) What was one toy/lunchbox/album you always wanted but never got? Mystery Date!!!!!!!!! My cousins had this and I was so jealous!
5) Who’s the one actor/actress on TV today that you wouldn’t mind seeing on a poster in your room? The guy that plays Luke on Brothers and Sisters? Bare chested of course. And if I can name a musician….Kid Rock….

1. I’d love to play with my baby doll Fred. She was named Fred because her hair stuck up like my Uncle Fred’s.
2. If someone handed me five dollars and told me to treat myself, I’d buy some kind of hair clippy thing. Wierd huh?
3. I’ve got nothing here…no special skills…now I’m totally depressed. ;(
4. I got it a couple years ago…A brand new bike. I didn’t have one when I lived in England. When we moved to the States, my Step-Dad gave me his from when he was a kid. UGH…it was a boys bike. (Yes, I realize it was sweet of him.)
5. Taylor Lautner on my wall would be awesome. Yeah, that’s creepy huh? Katherine just reminded me I have him hanging in my closet (calendar)…okay I’m a creepy old cougar. LOL

Sharon, don’t feel bad about the calendar.
For a friend’s 40-something birthday my wife had me get a 6′ tall Edward from Twilight cardboard cut out. I carried it through the whole mall!
She still has it in her room. Her husband just ignores it now.

LOVE these!!!! Lynn, I HAVE Mystery Date. Me. Not my girls. An old friend from grade school sent it to me a few years ago as a “blast from the past” (we played it a lot). I’ll bring it to a conference sometime and we can play. LOL!
I laughed out loud at some of these answers! Thanks for that, everyone!
Okay, my turn.
1) A toy I wish I could play with just one more time… This is tough because I loved my Barbies, my doll Jody, and my EZ Bake Oven. Hmmmm. I’ll take the oven. The little cakes always tasted soooooo good.
2) Five bucks. That’s easy. I’d get a hot chocolate and pull up a chair with joe and lynn.
3) I’d say the Two All Beef slogan (in its entirety)…backwards.
4) Something I wanted but never had (love the sno cone story, Joe)…a bike of my own. I had a hand me down my whole life. But I would resurrect my Yoo-Hoo flag.
5) There’s something about Simon Baker that calls to me.

1) What’s one toy from your childhood you wish you could play with just one more time? My colorful blocks where I built schools and homes.
2) If someone handed you five bucks and told you to go buy yourself a treat right now, what would you buy? I would buy a book
3) If you were suddenly called to perform an oddity on one of the late night TV shows, what could you do? Read something on his desk upside down
4) What was one toy/lunchbox/album you always wanted but never got? I’m still waiting for my Shaun Cassidy album.
5) Who’s the one actor/actress on TV today that you wouldn’t mind seeing on a poster in your room? Pierce Brosnan

Reading these has been a blast! I can share the Shaun Cassidy album w/ you Dru–just need a turntable!
1. Blast from the past toy: Jacks–I used to play for hours. Gotta have the little metal ones and the little hard rubber ball from the gumball machines–not the big red one that came with the jacks. I doubt my knees would allow me to sit cross legged on the floor for hours now!
2. $5 handed to me: large diet coke from McDs and a book (gotta go to used bookstore or goodwill to stay in the budget!)
3. Perform an oddity? hhhm, I can stick my toungue out in a point like Gene Simmons from KISS??
4. Always, always wanted a Lite Brite. Never got one. My son got one, from me, for Christmas when he was five!
5. Poster in my room of?? since there’s so much retro in this–I’d pick Donny Osmond (wonder what happened to mine?!)

Okay I get to share my age group with this:
1. I still have my black cat stuffed animal I got when I was 4 or 5, Blackie is over 50 years now. My older sisters used to hide him in the freezer from me.
2. $5, has to be a book.
3. On TV, probably faint.
4. Wish I had The Beatles lunchbox.
5. Toss up between Tom Selleck and Mark Harmon! They both get better looking as they get older.
