A Look At The Future

crystal-ballI’m sure you’ve heard of these new do-it-yourself home kits that can tell you what diseases you might contract in the future.  Now, while it’s an interesting concept, I’m not sure I’d want to know. Not unless knowing would enable me to prevent it.

Which brings me to today’s DREAMER MONDAY question about the kinds of things a person might like to know about their future if they could…

If you could learn one thing about your future, what would you want to know and why?

Ten years ago it would have been, would I ever fall in love…

Now, when I read the blog, my first question that popped into my head was will I have a novel published? And if yes, will I be successful?

Then I thought, what if I knew the answer was going to be NO. Would I want to know that now? Would I want to crush my dreams with reality?

Someone said the joy is in the journey not the destination. I don’t want to know.

Interesting stuff, Lynn. And I think it’s kinda cool that you wouldn’t *want* to know on the novel. I think a lot of people would…just so they could either 1) stick with it if it was going to happen of 2) give up if it wasn’t. I think it’s neat you want to enjoy the ride no matter where it takes you. Kudos!

Me? I’m not sure what I’d want to know. Except maybe whether I’m going to be happy in the future, and if not…why. So maybe I could thwart it from happening.

Hmmm…Will I ever lose the last xx pounds? I have lots of things I wish for, but like Lynn, I wouldn’t want to know if I was going to get those wishes.

I wouldn’t want to know about the novel thing either…..but I think I would want to know if the kids thing is in the cards :)

Not a thing. I’m afraid I’d spend all my time trying to undo That Which Must Come To Pass, or working to make sure it happened. Either way, I’d lose sight of the here and now.

Sharon, you’re great the way you are.

Nikki, that would be a cool thing to know, wouldn’t it?

Joe, I love the way you said that…about either way you’d lose sight of the here and now. Wow. Perfect.
