Askin’ Around

My curiosity continues…

What are your kids/grandkids reading right now?

What are YOU reading right now?

Oooh, two more…

3) What book are you looking forward to getting your hands on as soon as it releases?

4) Is there a series that’s disappeared from store shelves, yet you wish hadn’t?

    Hi Elizabeth,

I’m currently reading Jan Cleland’s Deadly Appraisal. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on Pinned for Murder. :)

Currently reading Delivering Happiness (the autobiography of Zappos).

I can’t remember what the girls are reading, but they are school related. My son is really into Go Dog Go.

I really want the next George R.R. Martin book A Dance with Dragons.

Last, the series didn’t so much disappear, but they became cookie cutter/copy and paste: the Clive Cussler books. Same with the W.E.B. Giffin Marine series.

My son reads computer manuals. Icckk. My new daughter in law – true history. She was into a book about the Nixon presidency when I last saw her.

Currently I’m reading Running Hot (Jayne Ann Krantz) LOVE IT. Also have Labor Day, Insatiable, and 100 Must Read Thrillers going on. Okay, so I’m an ADHD reader….

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the Cody mini series from Harlequin American as well as Pinned for Murder. (grin)

I’m concerned about the final chapter in Angie Fox’s Demon Slayer series now that Dorchester is no long printing books. I hope I can grab that somewhere. Otherwise the characters will be stuck in Greece forever. Although now that I think of it, their fate could be worse.

Hi, Debra!! Thanks for stopping by! I’ve not read the Cleland books yet.

Chris, I remember Go Dog Go! My oldest was partial to Mr. Brown Can Moo, How About You? As for cookie cutter books, it’s my biggest fear as a series writer…hoping to avoid that like the plague.

Lynn, Labor Day was good. I enjoyed that one!!!

There’s too many books that I’m looking forward to
There’s a couple of series that has ended that I’ll miss, but can’t think of them now.

    Elizabeth,
Just finished reading Death Threads. I love this series! In the book, you mention that Torie’s favorite suspense novel is “A Cry in the Night” by Eunice Weatherby. I have tried to find it to no avail. Is it a real book? Can you give me more info about it, so that I may find it somewhere? Thanks much, Marie

    Marie,

Actually Eunice Weatherby was the name of the library patron who’d requested “A Cry in the Night” by Mary Higgins Clark. It is a real book and it’s the one that made me want to be a mystery writer!!! If you’ve not read it, track it down (any bookstore should have it–it’s an oldie but a goodie) and then let me know what you think, okay??

The Jan Cleland series is very enjoyable, so is the Carolyn Haines’ series.
I want to read Earlene Fowler’s State Fair book next when I can get it from the library.
I am still hunting the earlier Joan Hess’s Claire Malloy series books.
