Three Things

Posted under Uncategorized 4 Comments

Another weekend, another blur.

I didn’t do anything with FAFSA this weekend as I’d intended, but I’ll get to it. This whole 5 months earlier than normal thing is just weird.

Anyhoo, my weekend…

I spent time each day working on my want-to writing project proposal. It’s coming along nicely, I think. Hoping to have it to my agent by Sunday night. Since it’s top secret at this point, I’ll use this picture to illustrate…

Next up, DD # 2 had some friends over Saturday evening for some Halloween fun. I, of course, saw this as an excuses to bake, and bake I did…

Which leads me to yesterday and more work on…

I know, I know. Lame-o on the pictures-o this week. But really, I was a working fool.

Your turn.

Last Minute Bits

Posted under Bits & Pieces Fridays 13 Comments

Got in late last night from an MS gig, but didn’t want to forget about Bits day.

So here we go…

  1. If you were President,  what one thing would  you do (can be serious/can be funny)?
  2. What popular Trick or Treat candy could you do without?
  3. What popular Trick or Treat candy do you love most?
  4. One plan for your weekend?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

That Car

Posted under odds and ends 3 Comments

Sorry I was AWOL yesterday. I had to take the car in for service and the morning got away from me.

Which is why cars (the expensive little suckers) are on my mind now.

So here’s a question for you.

If you could buy a brand new car right now, what would you pick (make/model, color, must-have options, etc).  We can dream, can’t we?

What I’m Reading…

Posted under Reading Tuesdays 5 Comments

Some reading updates on my end:

At the gym on Sunday morning, I started Harlan Coben’s HOME. Once I finish this one, I’ll be all caught up on the Myron Bolitar series.

On my computer, I’m reading what I have (so far) of my want-to project. Since I’ve had to put it down so many times in order to write my contracted work, I need to get back into the story again. I’ve found I can do that most easily after I’ve read it several times.

What are you reading?

Three Things

Posted under Dreamer Mondays 4 Comments

Another weekend is behind us. And while it was busy with more work-stuff (I sent off the copy edits–woot!), there were some really fun moments too…

On Friday afternoon, DH and I made a quick run down to the city to go to a pop-up store. I’ve never done that before, so it was interesting (and I got three pairs of pants–a feat for someone with long legs). On the way back to the car, we grabbed dinner…but no picture.

**so pretend there’s a picture of me with a shopping bag (a very rare sight) in my hand here**

Saturday brought some mom and me time with DD # 2.  We went out for frozen yogurt to our favorite place and then came home and watched a movie on TV…

And then, yesterday, I did some baking (that’s butterscotch in the pot) for a blog project I needed to do for my publisher…

Wide Ranging Bits

Posted under Bits & Pieces Fridays 3 Comments

Oops, slept in a little.

🙂

Bits time!

  1. If you could live in another state (other than your own), which would you pick and why?
  2. Must-have “extra” feature in a car?
  3. Pretzels or chips?
  4. Happy or scary Halloween decorations?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Next Line

It was a dark and stormy night…

If you were writing this tale, what would be your next line? Be funny, be serious, whatever. Just tell us in the comments.

Fun Stuff

Posted under That's Life Wednesdays 2 Comments

Went for a drive and a hike yesterday and it felt so good to get outside in the fresh air. We’re having some beautiful fall weather in the northeast right now, although the past day or so has had more summer-like temperatures.

Now, it’s back to work. Copy edits at the top of the stack.

But one thing I’ll also be working on this weekend, is a cooking/baking related post for one of my publishers. It won’t take long, but it’ll involve time with cookbooks and baking…two of my favorite things!

What’s a you-thing you like to do when you have a chance?

What Do You Recommend?

Posted under Reading Tuesdays 3 Comments

I turned in Final Pass Edits on THE SILENCE OF THE FLANS yesterday afternoon. Since I have to start copyedits on PATTERNED AFTER DEATH tomorrow, I’m taking today off.

In the meantime, recommend a book to me ( you know, for when I have time to read).

Three Things

Posted under Dreamer Mondays 3 Comments

This weekend went by in a little bit of a blur with work, but I’ve managed to pull out three things to share…

On Friday, I saw DEEPWATER HORIZON with DH.  It was a good movie.

When we got home, we played a little backgammon…

On Saturday evening, after I got my work done, DD # 2 and I had an appetizer dinner (love doing that) and watched one of my favorite chick flicks, 27 Dresses (which she’d never seen).

And there you go. The rest of the weekend was about final pass edits on THE SILENCE OF THE FLANS (which I’m in the process of finishing up today).

Now, tell us three things about your weekend…
