Time For Spring

Yesterday, the blizzard known as Stella dumped a lot of snow where I live. A full eight hours before her arrival, the school districts were already announcing closures.

It started in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, and by the time I woke up, this was what I saw out on the deck.

Around 1 p.m., despite the fact we still had more hours worth of snow coming, I stepped outside with shovel in hand to this…

And then I started shoveling…

After a full hour-and-a-half of shoveling by DD # 2 and I, we didn’t even have 25 percent of the driveway done when DH got home. Soon though, with his added shoveling, we had enough done  he could get his car off the street. The problem isn’t just the volume of snow, it’s also a very very heavy snow.

We had a pretty easy winter around here (save for one 10 incher in February) until this. And now, I’m more than ready for spring.

How’s your weather?

Cold. Actually below freezing in Atlanta for the first time in at least a month (Heck, Saturday I was doing yard work in short sleeves 🙂

It dumped about 4 inches on us Saturday morning but by the afternoon it was gone. It has been cold though, probably feels warm in comparison to what you have.

The swings are crazy. We’ve had a few of those here, too. It’s probably why everyone in my house is sniffling and coughing.

Debbie, 4 inches is actually a lot for you guys, isn’t it?

Yes that was quite a bit for us. It was funny when they were calling for it I figured it would miss us, I came down in the morning and we were covered and it was still coming, loved when it changed to the large fluffy flakes, so pretty. Hubby was sleeping in, he was off, by the time he came out it was almost all melted off. Pittsburgh where all my family is was supposed to get hit almost as bad as you and we got more than they did, I don’t think that they even got an inch.
