Fix It Bits

I came home from a quick work trip to find that DD #1 had replaced a cracked screen on her laptop…by herself. While I know she’s smart and pretty tech savvy, it still surprised me that she was able to figure it out.

So today’s bits are fix-it related. I realize the answers may be amusing, but what the heck…

  1. What’s the last thing you fixed?
  2. What’s the biggest thing you’ve ever broken?
  3. What’s something that broke and you had to throw away that you still think about?

Happy weekend!

    1. weed whacker needed the spool to be replaced

    2. ‘broke’ is relative. I took an entire pharmaceutical R&D lab off line by deleting the wrong directory on their control system 🙁

    3. Not broke, but realized it was too old to fix would be my first car. No AC, rusting in the NE, I sold it for $100. Would have been a fun project for the decades since.

Oh, and pretty much anything you want to do has a ‘how to’ video on YouTube. I always start there.

I literally cringed when I read your # 2, Chris. Yikes! I’m betting *that* was a bad day…

    I. Hmm, besides fixing numerous planograms at work, I replaced the toilet paper holder that came off the wall.
    2. Other than being in a car accident that demolished the car…but that wasn’t my fault so I didn’t break it. A laptop.
    3. A crystal bowl from Germany that someone had given us as I gift, it was gorgeous and shattered into a thousand pieces.

This is a hard one for me because I am not much of a fixer or breaker, 😉
    1. A piece of my new cabinet that my brother was putting together for me. He went a bit crazy and I had to super glue it to keep it from being ruined. Does that count, lol
    2. Oh boy Chris’ answer is scary. I guess my foot. (I even asked my mother and between us we couldnt think of anything)
    3. My fish tank that all of a sudden sprang a leak everywhere. Thank goodness is was my smaller tank and not the big one with the 2 foot pleco.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Debbie, LOL on # 1. The one in the hall bath does that all the time…

Kay, I had to look up pleco to see what it was. And yeah, that wouldn’t have been good!

    Here’s mine:

    1) My underwear drawer. Always comes off the track. And I always UGH when it does.
    2) Some sort of food jar, I think. Scared the begeebers out of the cat.
    3) I’m going to say this decorative thing my mom had when I was little that my brother and I broke during a couch pillow fight (it wasn’t a friendly fight). We tried to hide the broken side (I was 5, he was 9) but she found it and we got in big trouble. I still feel bad about that even now.

Ohhh, things we broke and hid from our parents. I’ve got a few dozen of those 🙂

Never Mind the things we thought we got away with that our parents totally knew about. That’d be a fun Friday post!

LOL, Chris. You should divulge on the hidden ones. We won’t tell. 🙂
