Patriotic Bits

waving-flagIn honor of Veteran’s Day, I thought we’d have some patriotic style bits…

  1. Favorite patriotic/America-themed song?
  2. Any familial ties to any wars? If so, which ones?
  3. Sparklers or big boomers (fireworks)?
  4. Favorite military related movie?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
    1. The National Anthem! Even though it’s long and I seem to always mix up a few lines, it still makes me feel proud.
    2. My dad was in the Navy. Not sure what wars he may have been in.
    3. Big loud fireworks! I love the loud boom and the crackle sounds.
    4. Forrest Gump and A Few Good Men.

    1. Toby Keith – Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue
    2. Dad and uncles in WWII
    3. I tend to shun fireworks, but fun to watch the neighbors boom the big stuff.
    4. Uncommon Valor

Thanks to all that have served our country
    1. God Bless the USA – mainly because my dad loves it and it has personal connections to his air guard unit
    2. My father – Air Force/Air Guard – Korea, first Gulf War. Also a dear friend of our family that was in 3 different wars just passed yesterday at 97. He was 15 when he first signed up and fought at the Battle of Remagen. He drove himself to pick up lunch every day until about 6 months ago. He was a true man of steel. He was amazing and my Dad is as well.
    3. Tyler hates fireworks so, so do I, lol
    4. I am more of a fan of older war movies, but cannot remember any of the names. I do love the song from “The Bridge on the River Kwai”, lol

Andrea, I, too, am a huge fan of A Few Good Men.

Bob, I’m not sure I’ve seen Uncommon Valor. Will need to check that out.

Kay and Debbie, I love Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA, too. Makes me teary-eyed EVERY single time I hear it.
